If you have ever been to the United Kingdom, you’ll see most tea drinkers prefer to drink black tea rather than green tea. Now there may be good news for all you black tea lovers, an article entitled, “Why an ordinary cuppa has the same health benefits as green tea,” talks about a new study that indicates black tea is just as healthy as green tea. The study emphasizes that there are similar health improvements in people who drink either black or green teas. What are your thoughts on this?

The specific health benefits of tea are always up for debate and there are sure to be more studies to come. The most important thing to remember is to make sure you are drinking natural ingredients; when you add a bunch of refined sugars you lower the healthiness of your tea. We use a hint of black tea in our beverages to smooth out the flavor. XINGtea only uses the finest natural ingredients such as pure cane sugar and all-natural honey. XINGtea is able to give you a healthy ready-to-drink tea that is very refreshing. And with 14 flavors it is easy to find a tea that satisfies your palate.

Founders and brothers Scott and Tom Lebon attribute XINGtea’s success to the various, consistent tastes of the 14 flavors of tea and also to the memorable packaging and design on the cans. At XINGtea, we believe in “A bold promise pending a tasteful experience.”

In fact, iced tea is so popular in the United States, that a special spoon was created for flatware sets to stir sugar into the tall glasses of tea. It is truly an all-American summer drink and 85 percent of the tea consumed in the U.S. is iced. As the temperature rises, XINGtea’s Green Tea with Peach flavor is the perfect refreshment on its own or as a complement to any of your iced tea recipes.

We use real peaches in our secret iced tea recipe to create this unique flavor that is not too overpowering. The trick is a hint of black tea to smooth out the flavor. Because our product is natural, we only use pure cane sugar and all-natural honey as sweeteners. And we would never, ever use high-fructose corn syrup or preservatives in our beverages. XINGtea’s peach beverage goes perfect with grilled chicken, fish or pork.

Be sure to try XINGtea’s peach flavor with a dash of club soda and a wedge of lemon for a citrusy taste. If you are feeling adventurous, try XINGtea peach over ice with a splash of vodka or gin. Anyway you drink it, XINGtea’s peach drink is sure to liven up any summer picnic.

When it comes to tea, opinions and preferences are as varied, and as passionate, as the drinkers themselves. Some prefer to add sugar or cream. Some are big on lemon, others not so much. Then there are the herbal vs. black leaf camps.

But, whether you prefer black or green tea, honey or lemon, perhaps one of the biggest debates in the tea world is iced vs. hot. This seems to be particularly pronounced on this side of the pond as iced tea seems to be a uniquely American phenomenon – have you ever tried to order an iced tea in Europe?

But, no matter where you are in the world, tea drinkers have a wide variety of ways to enjoy this wonderful beverage. Just like there are different ways to drink XINGtea, different cultures take and prepare their tea differently.

United Kingdom: Black tea is traditionally served with cream and sugar.

Tibet: Butter, milk, and salt are added to brewed tea and churned to form a hot drink called Po cha.

Morocco: Green tea is served with mint.

United States: 80 percent of tea consumed is iced or cold.

Taiwan: Drinkers prefer Bubble Tea, also called pearl milk tea, which is a tea beverage mixture with milk that includes balls of tapioca.

Thailand: Tea in Thailand is a strongly brewed red tea that usually contains a hint of anise, red and yellow food coloring, and sometimes other spices as well. This tea is sweetened with sugar and condensed milk and served chilled.

Indian: The tea is brewed with a mixture of aromatic Indian spices and herbs. The most commonly used herbs are ginger and green cardamom pods, but it can also include cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, fennel seeds, peppercorn, and cloves.

How many different ways do you drink your tea?

It’s finally spring! Now it is time to emerge from the mountains of coats and sweaters, put down the hot cocoa, step outside and take a deep breath. As much as we enjoy the white of winter, it is nice to see the sun, throw on a pair of flip-flops and lounge in the park.

As you prep your cooler for those summer picnics, baseball games and BBQs, don’t go for boring old canned drinks, try a refreshing iced tea in any of 14 flavors of XINGtea to complement your palate. Try the mango flavor with a burger; try the mint flavor with some watermelon or just hydrate with the ginseng flavor after the tag football game. Here’s what we will be packing for a trip to the park:

•	Cans of XINGtea Blueberry and XINGtea Pomegranate
•	Brie cheese
•	Sesame crackers
•	Red grapes
•	Apple pie

In the heat of the summer, no matter what’s packed in your bag, make sure to add an ice cold XINGtea so you can stay hydrated and replenish not only your body but your soul. Check out all 14 of our flavored iced teas here.

So, what is in your cooler?

We consider ourselves a “green” company dedicated to preserving the beauty and cleanliness of our surroundings. At XINGtea, we do our part of helping the environment by bottling all of our teas in cans and containers that are recyclable. We use pure cane sugar and all-natural honey, not only to produce the great taste in our iced tea, but because we feel a connection to nature.

United States Senator Gaylord Nelson originally founded Earth Day as an environmental teach-in first held on April 22, 1970. While this first Earth Day was focused on the United States, an organization launched by Denis Hayes, who was the original national coordinator in 1970, took it international in 1990 and organized events in 141 nations. Earth Day is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network, and is celebrated in more than 175 countries every year.

If are you are in the Denver area for Earth Day you should head down to the Earth Day fair being held in Civic Center Park in Downtown from 10:00am – 2:00pm on April 22. The fair will be open to the general public, schools and city employees to attend. There will be many “Earth Friendly” table exhibits and displays from various non-profit organizations, private companies and of course, city agencies.

Did you know that all tea comes from the tea bush, Camellia sinensis? So how then do you get different types of tea when it all comes from the same plant? It is all in the way the tea leaves are processed after being harvested that makes the distinct flavors that we all enjoy.

Here at XINGtea we use green tea as a base for all of our products and add just a hint of black tea for that special flavor. Just because we only use green and black teas in our products doesn’t mean we have anything against the other types of teas out there! We have an appreciation for all tea types—whether it’s iced tea or served hot! Below is a brief overview of the four most popular teas:

Black Tea
When making black tea, the leaves go through an oxidation process that gives the tea a rich and bold flavor. Black tea is generally stronger and longer-lasting in flavor and contains more caffeine than less oxidized teas.

Green Tea
Where black tea is created through the use of an extensive oxidation process, green tea undergoes minimal oxidation. Green tea is made by briefly steaming the just-harvested leaves, rendering them soft and pliable and preventing them from fermenting or changing color. Unless specifically decaffeinated, green tea naturally contains caffeine.

Oolong
Oolong tea, also known as “wu long” tea, is semi-oxidized and is full-bodied with a flavorful fragrance and sweet aroma and has been partially fermented to give it a color between green and black tea. Though the caffeine content in a given batch of tea may vary based on brewing methods, Oolong tea contains caffeine but has less than both black tea and green tea.

White Tea
White tea is the purest and least-processed type of tea. It is made of silver buds and select leaves, which have been steamed and dried. White tea is the most expensive tea available, and, since it’s the least-processed tea type, it has more antioxidants than both green and black tea.

Herbal Tea
As it turns out, herbal tea is not really a tea at all. Instead of being made with leaves from the Camellia sinensis bush, it is typically the combination of boiling water and dried fruits, flowers or herbs. This tea is often blended to make unique-tasting infusions.

So now that we have covered the most popular types of tea, we want to hear from you. What’s your favorite type of tea? Do you prefer it hot or iced? (XINGtea is great both ways!) We can’t wait to hear your thoughts!

So what is this agriculture product that has such a broad spectrum of uses? It’s tea! Whether you prefer hot or iced tea, XINGtea is a great choice. Give it a try cold or hot sometime, I think you will find that it is delicious either way!

Ever wondered who came up with the idea to steep tea leaves in hot water and then drink it?

As the legend goes, the second emperor of China, Shen Nung was having a cup of hot water when dried leaves from a camellia bush blew into his cup. The emperor was interested in the new liquid because it had a pleasing aroma, so he drank the infusion and discovered that it was refreshing and had a delightful flavor. He declared that tea gives vigor to the body.

When tea arrived in Europe in the mid-18th century, it was strictly for the aristocracy because a pound of tea cost an average British laborer the equivalent of nine months’ wages. The British began importing tea in larger qualities to satisfy the rapidly expanding market. Tea became Britain’s most important item of trade from China. All classes were able to drink tea as the tea trade increased and became less of a luxury. Now, tea is low in price and readily available.

Iced tea made an appearance in the U.S. around 1879, as Americans began to harvest ice from New England lakes and rivers. According to the Joy of Cooking, iced tea was first served at the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis.

Today, there are more than 1,500 types of tea to choose from because over 25 countries cultivate tea as a plantation crop. China is one of the main producers of tea, and tea remains China’s national drink. XINGtea uses green tea in products because of its great taste and potential health benefits.

With the natural antioxidants and mild taste, green tea is the perfect foundation for XINGtea’s 14 varieties of all-natural, preservative-free teas!
